Any chance that those of use with flatbed scanners might be able to create files from them?  Maybe start a reference library on this site?

That's kind of what I was thinking.  I asked Josh if they are in decent enough of shape to scan.  We'll see.

I think that is a great idea. The ones that dr Galaga asked for are spoken for. I don't want any money for the manuals but I do ask that you pay shipping and if you are able please scan these and make them available to others. I know how much certain manuals have helped me in the past so I just hope these might help someone sometime. although some of them are rather odd machines.

I actually asked the question about starting a library a few months back, but it just kind of laid there.  However, I think it would be a great idea.  When you scan these manuals, it creates files larger than we are allowed to post.  So, my thought at the time was to see if there was a way to scan the file, send it to a "library moderator" (Jim or some one he approves of), and have it posted.  The moderator would have to have posting privileges of large file sizes. That way, we could get the info out and still not flood the site with large graphic files.

I personally have the following manuals and would be happy to share with everyone.  I can scan them (some are already in electronic format) and send to you via email (use waynestrine@yahoo.com for requests):

Vendo 23 Manual (already in .pdf format)
Cavalier 51 Manual (already in .pdf format)
Vendo Vari-Price Coin Mech
Coinco 9800 Manual
National Slug Rejectors Manual (already in .pdf format)

I'll check to see if I have any more.
