It's not missing the coin mech.....that is what the handle is attached to.

       Nice find!   happydrinkers

I thought the same thing.. but he's fairly certain it wasn't there...

A lot of people refer to the slug rejector as 'the coin mech', 'coin ejector' or 'coin rejector', of which the last two make no sense to me. You want coins to be accepted not rejected or ejected.
The coin mechanism is what makes the machine vend either mechanically or electrically. The coin is the catalyst that makes it work.
The slug rejector has three duties:
(1) test and accept valid coins
(2) reject slugs, washers and invalid coins
(3) deliver accepted coins to the proper slot on the coin mech and return rejected slugs etc. back to the customer

Well, of course the keys didnt come with it for the coin door. I have to have it shipped to me, do it may be a while until the mystery is solved.

The owner said it for sure wasn't there so it will be a huge bonus if its the rejector! Of course, the mech will be screwed up if its doing that!!

Not necessarily! The handle does rotate 360 degrees. It would also rest in that position if the pin has been removed.

Tim

I think by Michigan standards I might have paid way over retail!!!  tounge

I'll admit I paid way less then it is worth and he threw in a couple of thermometers... I told my buddy to offer $1000 to test the waters and see where he is at (Hey, I had one texted picture of just the top half of the machine, was told it was missing the coin mech, and I have to ship it from KC to Maine so I have to start somewhere!!) Then I heard him say "so, will you take $600?" he went back and forth with him a couple of times ignoring what I was saying and he was acting like he was talking to me and worked out a price I could definitely live with.   drinking

I know I'm a mouthpiece trying to get people here to admit these things might be worth more then $200 if they are flipping them for $2500, but when someone asks what its WORTH (in estimated values), what I WILL pay, what I WANT to pay, and what I would sell it for, those are completely different questions!!!  biggrin The part I think people here won't admit is what they are WORTH!!

As they say, "You can't be both the buyer and the seller".

When a seller asks "what's it worth?", I like to answer the question with another question and say "what do you need for it?"

You did well Tim...you got a great machine at a bargain price, without leaving the couch, and made your buddy bust a nut picking it up.

Capitalism at its finest...When can we attend your training classes?  I need to be schooled on the art of the deal!
