Welcome aboard Hairboy, You could start buy selling me the machine for 500.00 and doubling your money. Ha-Ha... Great buy. Show us a picture of it when you get it cleaned up. Keep in mind that the electrical components are over 50 years old. I would highly recommend that you replace them. Cost would be approx. 125.00 if you did the work yourself. The parts are readily avail. through Funtronics and the Soda Jerk Works. '>

Yeah just wash and wax and maybe some CLR on the rust area on the bottom inside of the main door then some type of rust preventive to stop it from coming back. and a little detail cleaning around the compressor and she look like new! You Stole That for $250! You sure there wasn't another 0 on the price tag and it fell off!'> Great find! Welcome to the board... Hope you stick around!

Soap and water, elbow grease and a good shop vac is all you need for your machine clean up.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Yes it's a 81A.
Yes I'm the one from the Team Camaro site.
The guy originally wanted $1000 but needed money right now so I knew I had a good score.
I'll start with clean up then put up some more pics.
Mild soap??
Thanks. Brian

I use a generic dish soap, one of those small 99 cent brands and use it sparingly.
Nothing that is too harsh, (Dawn, Palmolive ect)if you keep your hands wet and in the soapy water for long periods you'll know which ones are too harsh. Your hands will itch. crack ect palmolive does it for me, so i now use rubber gloves when cleaning the machine and parts.

Nice find! Treat that machine as if it were a 69 Camero R/S that had been sitting 30 yrs in a barn. You may need to use the high speed buffer and the proper sequence of cutting polish, but you will probably get the finish close to the color that is under the decal located above the coin entry. Avoid the white letters with the buffer, it will take them off. The compressor gets detailed like the cars engine. And 3 panes of new door glass will make that machine look awesome.
