Hi Eric, The outside of the Stoner Candy machines are sand blasted then painted. The insides are taken apart and the shelves are powder coated all the rods are plated (remove the springs first) Even the springs and barrols behind the knobs are replated. The candy unit itself is nickle plated. I think Bcharlton paints his cabnet and shelves, they still look good either way. I always replace the knobs with my new replacements. I also powder coat the tips of my knobs to match the machine I'm doing at the time. I do have the Stoner Replacement knobs for all Stoners. They will be ready in two weeks. I had ran out. I also have new cams for the locks being made. I also just got a new shipment of the art deco mirrors for the bottom of the machines. Stoners I'll have everything. Even replacement bases., ready to fit your Stoner. Thanks Curtis Memory Lane Restorations.

Mcarter, what you saw was a guard to cover the candy chute. That would pervent mice from getting into the machine and getting a free lunch. But yes they did put them on some of the Stoner machines.

Are you remaking those? Is this a rare thing to have on a stoner.

I have only seen a few Stoners with them. Brian Charlton had called me a short time ago and asked about a machine he got that had one on. He though someone had made it up. I think it was the Stoner 180 he's working on now. But I don't beleave I'll be making them. There's just not much demand for them. But I will be making lots of Stoner parts that I have never made, like the Cam's for the lock. Stoners take a special Cam. Thanks. Curtis Memory Lane Restorations
