Dr pepper version of the slider

I don't think so... The distributers where good for doing this to machines....
DP probably got the account route this cooler was sitting in and presto-change-o
it became a DP cooler.... I know of a 7up slider that Coca-Cola took, painted red
and screwed a Coke button over the 7up embossing in my home town.The original owner
told me that story (and didn't sell me the cooler)
I know Glasco didn't emboss their Coke machines.... Didn't know Ideal had non-embossed
Coke sliders.... Good to know....

Really is strange, it is Dr. Pepper green...originally in all the hidden places...but the Dr. Pepper green has Coca Cola Scripts painted on.  Later in life it was painted red and had more Coca Cola Stuff put on.  Oh well...it is gonna be a Dr. Pepper...'cause I already bought the decals.

Good! There's enough Coke machines...... And it may have started out DP.
I've seen a lot of machine and coolers where other branded them with their decals
(A Coke machine with 7up or Pepsi cap decals) It's kinda cool look'n. I'm
tempted to ad a differnet decal to my machine... Makes them look more authentic....

Nope, "Sprite" green isn't even close, nor was "Teem"
& Vernors green is just as dark as the other two mentioned, don't let this confuse you, Vendors & Bottlers use to & still do ,  Umm...."Aquire" and/or inherit other Bottles machines, and paint them to suite thier need's, case in point, I've got two "Faygo" machines ( a local independant Bottler here in Michingan for those of you who aren't up here in the Northeast/GreatLakes states), Both were Aquired from Coke & repainted Faygo "White" & givin new light-up graphic & vinyl logos for Faygo-Cola" & "Rock-n-Rye" & "Redpop" so don't be surprised, it happen to generics a lot....

No, Coke used a dark green early on 20's-30's example would be on glasscock coolers. Your machine was probably bootlegged by Dr. pepper and painted/decaled in their brand. You can find quite a few different colors on machines when restoring it. I find this to be a good thing because more paint usually equals less rust. Here's how it usually happened- A gas station would have a coca-cola machine and Pepsi would come along and offer them a new machine and a better incentive to sell their products. They would "dispose" of the old coca-cola machine for the gas station. What they usually did was repaint the old coca-cola machine in their colors/decals and put it on location somewhere else.

Yes, I know that Coke used dark green on 20's & 30's machines, but the answer was givin in context of the 50's slider in question. thanks for the additional info!  I've even seen a quickcold ice chest "Pepsi" generic with original silkscreened graphics too.) that was of all things  red! you never know! it's what makes this hobby fun.
