The ideal 55 that I have been bugging you all about has thrown me another curve. The slider as purchased is a non embossed, coca cola scheme. However, upon disassembly of the side door, I found underneath a nice shiny, smooth, unmistakable paint layer of Dr. Pepper green. Closer inspection reveals this green layer in the corners etc. Since I have only been at this hobby of a couple of years, I have not seen a slider in the Dr. Pepper scheme. I am sure the Sliders were painted in many brand configurations...I just have not seen a Dr. Pepper one yet.
In light of the fact I just bought me an embossed Coca Cola 55 , I am inclined to now restore this one back to its Dr. Pepper origins. I found one photo on a website (attached). My question: Is the scheme pretty accurate for how a slider would look? Anyone know? Anyone got a better photo?

The round sign is wrong but may have been the only sign they had... The front would have had a
square, rounded corner sign screwed to the front like an DP 81. You see that type of sign on eBay from time to time.
love the color scheme... good luck...

Eric,
Here is a photo from Steve Jebb's website for a sheet of Dr. Pepper Decals. Would the sign you refer to look like the decal of the rectangular logo on this sheet?

Welcome to the board!
First job I had worked on a farm/tourist trap that had a DP Slider. It was that shade of green and if memory serves was just painted or a decal in the DP script (not 10-2-4).

Forgive my cluelessness, but us non-southerners (Minnesotans) never really got into Dr. Pepper, so I am curious what 10-2-4 stands for. The bottle's figure's measurements?

It was a marketing slogan. Dr Pepper is supposed to "Pep" you up. 10, 2, & 4 are the times of day when you need a little pep, so the marketing scheme was to have a Dr. Pepper at 10, 2 and 4 o'oclock.

Had a few minutes yesterday to work on the slider. As noted in the earlier posts, I was convinced this was a Dr. Pepper -generic slider. However, as I stipped the paint, I found Coca Cola scripts (1 decal, and 2 painted) on each layer of paint. Amazingly, this slider in spite of the Dr. Pepper (?) green, was Coke to the bone. Did Coke ever use a green that was close enough to mistake for the Dr. Pepper pale mint green?
