Hey guys, I'm hoping we have a jukebox expert on this forum that can maybe help me a little,   although I've wanted one for quite some time, I really don't know much about jukeboxes, I have a chance to buy one or at least one is being offered to me in lieu of part of the money on a 4 machine deal I'm involved in... The jukebox is a Rok-Ola nostalgia 1000... I know, it's a much later model not to metion a reproduction of a reproduction lol but I'm fine with that, I know it's not terribly valuable around $800 to $1200 which I'm also fine with,  my main concern is of the quality of the model, I know the same reproduction done by the Sonata company out of mexico in the late 70's was a huge peice of crap and all I've ever read is poeple having nothing but peoblems with them,  is anyone familiar with Rock-ola's reproduction or maybe owns or has own one and can tell me how reliable they are ? Any help would be great ! Thanks in advance !

Hi Jeff,

I live in Williamsville and collect Jukeboxes.  I almost got tricked into buying the made in Mexico version.  Glad I didn't.  I do not own one but if you like that style, the 1973 Wurlitzer 1050 retro may be a better choice.  Let me know.  You are not that far away.  I am pretty good on the old Seeburgs but I still may be able to help a little.

Hi Jeff

if I were you I'd save my money and put it towards a real juke. I've got a couple. A Wurlie 1900 and a Rockola Empress. Had them longer than the kids. Have had a Seeburg in the past too.

You should keep your powder dry and have a hunt around and see what you can find. There are a couple of guys here that buy and sell and will have a much better idea of cost than me but for $1500 I'm sure you should be almost there on something visual.

The jukebox's where you can see the records are the ones that are most valuable. I wouldn't give 2 cent for any any other box.

Some "Silver age" jukeboxes that you may find more attractive.  I am partial to the Seeburg 100 series

Don't over look basket cases. They can be a lot of work, but so worth it in the end. ...
If you love Chrome, and to polish it,  the late 1950's  Seeburgs rock.

I got a Seeburg G I did a complete restoration in 2003 and to this day it play beautifully. Then with help of some folks on the board I got at Roc Ola 1422 untouched and I play it everyday. Good Luck
