Dave, that is great. A Pepsi Jacobs in any condition for $500 is a steal. You should get your wife into this hobby. Kate loves working on machines. She has recently taken up welding and is doing really well. I gave her a square top 96 to use as scrap metal and she has been making all kinds of stuff. I needed a bottle door from a square top 56 to be cut down to fit a round top 56 and she did great.

Right

I made a promise to my wife that before I went anywhere near the Jacbs I would sort out the Pump.

My wife works Friday Nights and when the kids finally fell asleep I just had to have a little look.

The inner door of the machine has had its lock removed. The door was shut solid. After fiddling around and removing back covers etc I managed to access the inner sanctury.

I half expected there to be no coin mech but have a look at what I found. The coin mech looks almost brand new.
Would this have been a replacement towards the end of the machines life??? I cant believe the condition of it in comparison to the rest of the machine. Such a pitty the rest isn't like it.

I found a 1964 5 cent piece in the mech.

I tell you what guys when I eventually do get around to doing something with the machine I am going to poo myself. I just have not got a clue where to even start.

Anyway here are the piccies.

Dave,

The above quote is hysterical!  I needed a good laugh on this Monday morning.  Let me know if you need me to pick up any parts for you.  I'd be happy to ship stuff over again.  It was real easy the last time.

That coin mech looks like it was just taken out of the box.  Wow!!

Cheers

Dave,
I think it is safe to say that you have a good investment on your hands. The wife should be pleased:
