I have been to the wheels through time museum a few times and have been to Maggie valley plenty of times also I have a good friend there who has a nice antique shop there. The museum gets a lot of biker traffic during summer spring and fall.

Restoring America...1 machine at a time!

Make no mistake about it, Wayne Carini is no COLLECTOR...he is a FLIPPER in the purest form. Would be a boring show if he didn't sell anything and just bought cars to hang on to. I think he's a straight shooter that may keep a very small percent of stuff he buys but will eventually sell within 6 months. I enjoy watching the program but they never divulge what he pays for most of the cars. I wonder what Velocity pays him a year to do the show... I'm sure its a pretty penny.

I don't know what Wayne gets paid per episode by Velocity, but I read that Richard Rawlings gets paid $50,000 per episode for Fast n' Loud by the History channel.

He's both a collector and the owner of an exotic car dealership.  I think they are pretty up-front about that on the show, unlike a lot of the dreck on the History channel.  In a lot of cases, he doesn't own the car - he's being paid to 'represent' the owners and help them sell it.  They do call that out on the show as well.

When I stopped by his shop, it was a Thursday afternoon.  No cameras, no filming.  Roger was in the garage working on an old MG and Wayne was wandering around checking on the progress of a few other projects.  Pretty much just running the business.

Anyway - I think the idea of the show is to expose people to some rare and beautiful cars.  In that sense I find it much more tasteful than, say American Pickers where they pretend to find things in some hoarder's barn and show you how much "profit" they sold it for.  Showing the car auctions is a way to give people a sense of the actual value of the vehicles they feature on the show.

Was just flipping through the channels and noticed tonight at 9pm eastern, after a marathon of Counting Cars is the premiere Season 7 Episode 1 titled "Under Fire"

We'll watched the first episode of the New American Restoration

The Fire Truck was nice

The Motorcycle was also nice ( this guy has been on before and I like his attitude and work And his Shop )

The  Barber Chair  look good also

They will ALL in my opinion will need to  show more restoration work

I reserve my opinion till after 3 Shows. That's what I give all my shows I watch if they can't keep my attention after 3
I don't follow them

I just watched it too. What a let down. They definitely need to show more of the "nuts and bolts" of restoration work and cut out the b.s.

Otherwise, not worth watching.

I wonder what their market research indicated, that made them want to change the theme like that?
