I am guessing the grey hammer tone, was the original color? That's the color I am thinking about.Any  experts out there, have any suggestions? Thanks Mike

  No Expert Here . But When I Got Mine The Upper Was Originally Hammer Gold In Color. I did not find any other Color during Tear down So That What I repainted it in .So I would Say Silver Was Most Likely the Color UNLESS you find a different one while tearing it down

It is always fun to take back the beauty of a machine after it has been trashed for some reason.Even when you can save a little of the original paint on the inside it makes a better piece.
