Josh  I do kind of agree with bubba  when you get the cashiers check go to the bank and have it deposited
and at the end of the two weeks let the chest go , then block Rick from bidding on your items and as more people block him he will get the hint , but then he might use one of his slackers to do the bidding for him . oh .

Josh  I do kind of agree with bubba...

Ditto....you voiced and wrote your requirements...waffle on it and you'll end up looking like the flake. The check should still get to you in time via USPS Standard First Class Mail (2-3 days). Deposit the check, ship the cooler and be done with it.

Did anyone look at completed eBay auctions for the Victors - one sold for $6000 just before Josh's; however, "0" feedback seller and one bid! My bet is the guy still has it - shill bidding phisher!! veryangry  veryangry

If you can attract a local buyer maybe, but IMHO - no! It is too big for the average guy and market is still soft. I'd take the $400!

Josh maybe it might be , but you have kind of excepted the deal  when you talked to him and told him it would be a  money order  or cashiers check . now if you re-neg.  on this you will look bad,   Just cut your losses and let it go and learn from this , alot of us have learned from pass experience's  and we move on just fine .

thats the riskof selling an item with no reserve, if he was the winning bidder at that price, nothing you can do about it now.

Sorry I have to agree with Bubba on this one - I think you are blowing it way out of proportions. So the check is late big deal I have waited well over a month for a payment to arrive larger than that one and still shipped within a week. I knew less about the guy than you do but had heard of him through my main hobby so I trusted him. Yes he was late and wasbeing a a$$ by saying "do you know who I am" the fact is you do and you know where to find him should the check not clear. I don't think History channel would be to happy if he bounced a check and caused an problem I also think Rick knows who's buttering his bread right now. Remember sometimes "Life" does get in the way of things sometimes. Just my thoughts.

You all are right that this has been blown out of proportion and I apologize for it. I just don't want to get ripped off. I wasn't ever really worried about making more money on it I was just really upset at the way this guy has acted and the way he has let this go on. It was not about making more money. I will take the check and let him pick the cooler up.

However there is the one big issue. I know he is not going to wait for it to clear. I will deposit the check one day next week when it arrives and I will guarantee that there will be a truck at my door one day next week to pick it up. So are you guys saying just let it go before the cashiers check has cleared? If I take the check and go through with this deal that is what I will have to do. I don't think there is any way this guy is going to wait.

I don't mind taking $400 for this cooler. Actually I am quite happy with it however I can't afford to loose the payment and the cooler. I just brought up the thought of a higher price just to see what you all thought it was worth.

The Cashiers check is from Chase bank although this is not my bank is there anything that I can do at Chase bank to make sure the check is real and will go through? If I can do that then there is no problem.
