With pleasure. We really enjoy our outdoor space and the V81 adds that little touch of nostalgia that we so adore. Bob

The Ford Dealership pics are very cool. I'm kind of partial as my first car was a 67 Mustang Fastback. There is a guy in Texas who took an old Car Dealership and turned it into a Nostalgia Museum. If you google search Roadside America Museum you will find it.

I really enjoyed seeing the dealerships and I thought I'd share with you some pictures I found on the net of what we guys on the other side of the Atlantic were up to about the same time...

I used to think it was only we Americans who cherished classic cars and old filling station stuff.

Oh no.....Classic Cars here are a big thing... Petrol (gas) memorabillia is also very collectible this
side of the world.. A tadge smaller on the scale factor but still out there..
Soda, well I have to rely on stuff coming across from the US to bases etc for that. Having done a little research
it would seem that Coke chose their markets very carefully and decided to hit places like Germany and France
after the War rather than UK.
I think we may have had some trade sanctions in place at the time. The AMI jukes that came to the country
were arriving in bits and then being put togther in facotires her and re-labelled BAL - AMI to get around that.
Growing up in the 70's there were no soda vending machines that I can remember. Our tradition of the "corner shop"
meant we bought our drinks from groccers rather than machines.
I do on the other hand have a sizable collection of British chocolate (cadbury, very sore point) wall hangers that were on every street cornerduring 50's & 60's.
Here endith the history lesson...
