Ken,

Is there anyone who sells the ROM for old games?  And is there a web site that would be similar to ROM For Dummies so I would know what I need to swap?  Or if you find your parts and swap them, take some pictures for me so I would be able to see what you do.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry... there are few sites that sell the chips... http://www.hobbyroms.com/ is one. I think this is the one that a lot of guys use. I know I have it bookmarked at work.

As far as knowing what chips to replace, the best thing is to get the game manual for each game. Most of the manuals are available for free download on KLOV.com. In the manual it shows a layout for the pc board with chip locations.

As far as a site for which boards are interchangeable, I don't think there is one site that shows that. I spend some time at KLOV forums and RGVAC newsgroup for info.

If you want rom images for MAME or many other old console games, they can be downloaded at http://romhustler.net/

Ken
That's why storage units work really great for newly aquired machines. It seems like a great stopping point before they make the transition into the house.

Tom.. if I had to rent a storage unit for stuff before it made it into my house, I'd be in even more trouble then I'm in already. I have a few soda machines stashed at work already that have been undetected..   biggrin

Hmm... I guess I forgot to take some pics of that one... It is currently in a non working, no time space in my garage right now. I am getting closer to it, but I have a Tempest monitor to rebuild, a multigame to build next and then its onto Pole Position II. I did replace both power supply boards, the monitor lit up, but that was all I got so far.. The board didn't even boot. I'll see if I can get some pics of it...
