Hi Chaps...

After a drive of nearly 3 hours I managed to pick up my new Hires Sign. I am now officially out of wall space in my small gameroom. I did ask the wife if she'd mind me extending into the garage but the look I got said "Do you push it mate."

The sign is in very good shape and I'm very pleased with it.

Have enclosed a couple of pictures. On the bottom it has BN-8 & Made in the USA written on it.

Could anyone plse date it for me. Even if its not original what era would it show?? Hires is not available over here. The first thing the kids want to do after we have stepped off the plane in Florida next year is open a bottle of Hires. Is it still readily available.

Lots of questions ... Sorry.

That a great looking sign, Dave.  I really like it.  Ask the Mrs. if you can start putting stuff in the bedroom.  Just duck when you ask! '<img'>

Hires is still available over here and it's very good.  I also like Barq's root beer, too.

Those bottle cap signs are usually pretty popular. Looking through my advertising books I can't find one for Hires, but all their advertising with those stripes comes from the 1950's.  That's a cool one.

Wayne - Funny you should say the bedroom because the very first place I thought for it was over the bed. That didn't go down at all well.

Dan - Thanks for the info.

Jim - We are doing the tourist trail with the kids and heading for Orlando. Its either going to be April or May just haven't finally nailed down the dates yet.

Dave,

If you want some good info for Disney, I can hook you up.  I have some websites for some info and can give you some pointers.  I lived in Orlando for a year and have been to Disney a bunch.  One thing you do need to watch about April at Disney is all the kids on spring break.  Easter time is one of the WORST times to go there, crowd-wise.

You also ought to get back out to the West coast if you can.  It is really nice there.

Hi Wayne

Any help you can provide with Disney would be gratefully received. We are looking at either the last days in Apr or mid may. The second week in May.

Do you know when the kids break in the US. We will miss the UK break.

Also looking at Taking out another mortgage so we can all go to Discovery Cove.

I think most grade schools (k-12) would be on break either the week before or week after Easter which is early April this year. The County in which I teach is the week before which is the first week of April. In May you would have missed the college breaks.
