This is a nice cooler!
I think it may be an S&S/Quikold 1400...
I noticed the cover for the refrigeration lines too...
I'll assume there was a refrigeration system at one time...

My six cents,

I have also found that most people that have their auctions as local pick up only don't mind shipping through a freight company like NAVL. I think most people just don't understand how something of that size would be shipped and don't want the hassle of finding a way. Generally when I explain that I will make the arrangements and a truck will come to their house to pick it up and I will pay for the shipping COD they generally have no problem with it. It is more expensive to go this way but NAVL only wants $335 to ship one machine or cooler up to 1500 miles door to door delivery and it doesn't have to be on a pallet. That is a great deal.

How sweet would that be orange with an off white lettering like JohnieG said!
That's a Quikold type!
I just tore my backporch off this ol house yesterday! So cash for this hobby
in my wife's eyes does not exist!... So I am out '<img'>
That has so much great embossing! I feel anything embossed that's not Coca-Cola
or Pepsi from a small company like this is rare!... I've never seen one like this....
Would LOVE to have this would really break up the red and blue in the collection.
Hope someone here gets it!
It's missing the compressor but it has the chrome pieces and the cap catcher!
A great find!

Hey! I'm a hard item to find!....
I'm not a 81 or a 39 that's on eBay at any given time...
I'm a small brand from a small company...
And since Eric's wife already said no... I think someone else
from SMC should buy me, drive up here and pick me up!...
How cool would I look in your collection!....

WOW this is a great looking cooler.  Dan why don't you
put a bid on that and then maybe work out a deal with
Eric ( if close to the cooler) And maybe have Eric  pick it
up for you and maybe  meet you half way .

Nice box! I remember Orange Kist in the midwest late 60's. It was good. It went away and all you get was Orange Crush. Not as much flavor seemed to me.

We should sticky note some of these phone numbers. What was the phone number of Navl and the contact persons name?

Yeah.. I'm in Missouri.... I bought my 7up Quikold junior and it cost me around $250 from
the ND.... And with the work we're doing on our house... I'm out on this one...
But if it where a 10 hour drive and stayed around a couple hundred bucks price wise...
I'd be owning it. As close as I'm gonna get on this is storing that image in my
machine folder I keep on odd/rare machines.

I've been off the board for a few days '<img'>  .

I'm in MA and may take a swipe at this one.

So are we certain that isn't original paint?

Bob I bet that's original paint.. but bet it would be killer A dark orange, creamy white letters
with black lids and a black caster base! I really wish I could afford it but at the time I'm broke!
I would be all over that one...
Hope someone here gets it...

Hate to even say this... but.... it would make a AWESOME junior cooler! But it's a great size
as is too!
But if it were one of those 8' monster coolers a little cut and weld here and
there and BAM! You'd have a sweet little junior that would be worth way more!

Does the refrigeration line cover on the back mean that this was definitely a cooled unit? '<img'>

If so, I'm not interested in re-creating the water cooling system.  I had my fill with my Vendo spin-top - no more agitator motors for me '<img'>  .

The refrigeration line cover just means it had a cooling system, but does not necessarily mean it was a dry cool system; however, since it is missing, just put in a dry cool system.

Yeah I was looking through my machine book and all those odd ball juniors...
That Hires that was in CA again..if it it's missing the compressor and is too big
of a cooler - cut 'er down... that's all the juniors were anyway two embossed ends
that Barq's junior brougth pretty good money here about a year back.
This is probably the only time you'll hear me talk about chopping a machine.
I like stuff all original with original paint scheme but those little guys are the perfect size
unless you can find a standard (double junior) those are nice size machines too!
That Orange Kist was border line in size.... Hope one shows up closer...
I'd like to get something that scarce... Hope who ever got it shows up here and
we get to see the restoration.

The Pepsi and RC were non-compressors the OC had at one time a compressor
you can tell by the metal slats in the base, the wider off set slat helped hold
the compressor. these are early 40s and I think are VERY COOL  harder to find
I've only seen one other Orange Kist and it was a smaller standard cooler
and it was in the Club Soda magazine in someones collection years ago.
I feel these would be fun to collect. I only have a 7up junior...
These are WAY few and far between... Bet there are more RC 81s out there
and that Orange Kist cooler.
