My mother has a Cavalier that has recently been running more and more without shutting off. I wished it had been the t-stat, I'll be changing the compressor later this week. Good luck on yours.

Well it looks like I got lucky... new t-stat appears to have the machine working can set the temp as high as 40 degrees now.  Need to play with the cut-in / cut-out range (right now it only has a 2 degree range), but then we should be ready to go.
