Dave, I am pretty sure that the bottom panel that you are missing is repopped by FunTronics. I recently ordered their catalog and they had a reference to that bottom piece. When I dig out the catalog, I'll write what it say word for word and price.

Dave,
Honestly, unless it will cause bad issues with the wife (which, all kidding aside, is a very important thing to always consider), you really should go for it. All of us here would in a heartbeat and it would look very cool in your already cool room. I personally have always wanted a Jacobs, but the very few that I have ever encountered were always missing the drum/vending guts. So I am excited for you and really think you will regret it if you pass on it.
Besides, not too long ago you were always whining (just kidding) about how all the machines are on our side of the pond and that you never find machines over there. Well, guess what, you found a great one, now don't pass it up.
From the looks of the paint splatters on it, it looks like Jackson Pollock was the previous owner. '>

LOL Kito. Dave, that machine is rare, I have never seen one in person. Hawk a 39 if you must, but claim this Jacobs for yourself...... Overseas shipping is more than the entire machine price

Hello Everyone.
Stopped by the sellers place today on the way home from a weekend with the family. The seller has managed to get ahold of quite a few machines from a prop company. All of them, apart from the Jacobs are shells. Such a pitty.
Anyway had a look at the Jacobs. Wasn't sure what I was looking at and the room was very dark. The rust on the shelf between the compressor housing and the cooling unit has rust through. Just as Josh had said. The Compressor panel is missing ad can't be found. There quite a few dents some look fairly heavy. He said that it was due to the fact that the machine doesn't have any lifting handles etc.
Anyway to cut a long story short I managed to get it for £360.00. I don't know what that is US about $500.00 or so. Maybe a tadge more.
I pick it up next week some time and I can then take a few more piccies and post them. This really is a project job so I will be calling on your help throughout.
I'm very excited though. As it stands at the moment I am now the owner of three soda machines. The way I'm going I might even be able to list my bits and pieces at the end of my signature soon.
Dave
PS... The wife didn't even bat an eyelid. She doesn't know it yet but I have enrolled her in evening classes for a bit of Welding. Taking Erics advice to heart.

There is nothing better to get the wife in a good mood than scrubbing down the inside of a Vending machine that's been sitting around for 40 years!... Actually my wife didn't mind helping me one day until she found the "Family" of mice that "Expired" in the evaporater jar in my Jacobs 26 that I was cleaning out... This is kinda gross but interesting.. one of the mice actually got stuck in the little hole they where going in and out of and Trapped the others inside to live in eternity in my Jacobs... (they have been removed!)

My wife, who long ago passed the rolling the eyes routine at me buying stuff, who hates anything that involves measuring, sanding or boring repetition (strange since she a chemist who measures stuff over and over each day) has somehow not only decided she wants an ICY-O but wants to fix it herself. Furthermore she has "commanded" me to find one for her at once. Who I am to complain.
