( Patient) Owch! Doctor...it hurts when I do this... (Doctor) well don't do that! ':p'

Are you sure the system's dicharged? just curious, once you get the wiring straighted out, doublecheck to see if the unit will run, it may just be that the electrical problem was causing the cooling (lack-of) issue...But if you indead have a dischaged system, you'll have to determine why it is, (leaks, broken lines, etc.).

The Compressor's was most likely charge with R12, as for converting it over to say R134a, that would require you to seek the help of a qualified refrigeration tech. the gauges, vacuum pump & tools are quite a chunk of change for a single machines conversion, however to save on the expence of totally converting the compressor system over to R134a, you could have them use an R12 compatible substitute, such as Hotshot, R409, etc. this would save some time (& money) ,and  I'd suggest at least (on an economy budget) having a new filter/dryer installed on the suction line. food for thought. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Thanks, I'll get someone over to take a look. I'l make a list so he will only make one trip.

Atleast I can stand straight today. I keep forgetting I'm not as young as I once was. '<img'>

Hauling around that Cavalier CD 22 a few weeks ago didn't help your back much either.   '<img'>

My hubby moved it for me. Thank goodness!!

I dont think it was healed (my back) from when I injured it hauling that 50 lb.
chlorine pail up the steps to the pool.
He put it on a plant stand that has wheels, now all I do is roll it.
