Terry, Thanks for the reply. Been kinda watching e-bay. What is best catagory to watch? I need all inside parts actually. Matt C. has all parts but no belt. Byal Bros. have belt but will only sell with other inside parts for $400. I am restoring this machine to keep. Price sounds high but guess belts are hard to find. Thanks. Doug

I sold a belt a couples years ago on eBay for $100... So be prepared to pay that and maybe more for one now. Maybe buy the parts machine keep the belt and part the rest out on eBay and make some/all your money back. Good Luck Eric

Doug,
I've got the same situation as you do--machine with no "guts". I think I'm just going to try to find a parts machine. The Bros. priced the parts to me at $500 a couple of months ago--is the market slipping??

I would go ahead a restore the machine while looking for the parts. They will eventually come around.

Doug,
Here is a Cav 51 that may go cheap...you could get the ammo belt and part the rest out.

Yep, that's me. Doug, I'd appreciate if I could take a stab at this one, although it wouldn't be fair to tell you not to. This is the second time this has been on eBay. The first time, the guy started his bidding at $500 with no reserve. It received no bids. This time, he started it at $99 with a reserve. My guess is his reserve is between $400-500. I've bid $300, with the thought of going a little higher with the guy if it doesn't sell. Either that or I will drop another bid on it later today.

Wayne - Good luck with this auction. Just curious, is the "Ammo Belt" the only portion that you need? I too have a Cav 51 (luckily I got one with a belt) but, some of the internal sheet metal is shot. In particular, What I call the fan shroud.
Mine is pretty ragged around the edges. The only good part is the hole where the fan blade protrudes from, everything else is shot. Let me know if you can "hook-a-brother-up" Thanks!
