Today it's my turn to report on an unusual find. Glasco sliders are usually quite easy to find.
I have found some like this, no loading door, coin mech. or bottle rack but they always had lids and lidstops.
This one has no lid stops or lid,but these small sliders on top make it a great reach-in cooler.
The amazing feature is the condition of the top, body and compressor.

The guy I bought it from won it in an estate auction in Beverly Hills. The late owner was a wealthy politician and had this cooler built into her home bar when the house was built in 1960. It shows very little use.(He had to take the bar apart to take it home).
Maybe Glasco was trying to avoid the competition of the soda machine vendors and tried marketing to bars? (Hence retaining the bottle opener and cap catcher)

Very cool find.  is that the same size as the typical Glasco 50?

Thanks for posting.

Well, a nice original machine should be admired and preserved but that color was so industrial looking that no one wanted it.
We started the paint job yesterday morning and now it's finished. No body work was needed. Nicest machine I have ever owned.
