I've been looking on and off for quite some time to pick up a Vendo 81.

I came across someone who has one and is willing to sell for $3200.

It is an older restoration but looks to be in very nice shape and everything works in the cooling department.

What she mentioned and what I noticed is that it seems as if the coin mech has been altered/changed.

My question is, does this significantly lower the value of the machine?  Can it be changed back?  If so does that lower its value?

I am looking at this machine as something to have for fun but I would also like it to keep its value from an investment standpoint.

I've attached a few photos.

Thoughts?

I know this machine, I have been dealing with her for a couple of weeks on this machine. She is a very nice reasonable lady btw. It has been converted to electric which does hurt it's value. It was done right though as they did a nice job filling the hole where the crank handle goes. At $3,200 to convert it back won't be cheap. Coin mech alone would run around $500. Plus then you would have other issues to deal with. I offered her $2,000 as I would leave it as electrical but needless to say I couldn't make a deal with her. $3,200 is a little steep for that machine IMO.

Keep looking , the right deal will come around eventually
