Looks like fun. I've torn my gauges apart before to replace the gear in my odometer after I learned the hard way that you should never push the reset button while the car is moving. Luckily I knew when it broke and was able to roll the odometer forward the amount of miles I traveled so it is pretty much correct +/- a couple miles. I also think I have that same soldering iron. Greatest soldering iron I've ever owned. Thing only takes about 30 seconds to heat up

Takes me back to college and my '91 T-bird, took the dash apart to change the color of the glow, real PITA to get it back into the dash if I remember correctly. That car had some demons, but I learned to fix a lot of things in the process.

Thanks for the replies!!
Success getting the hard to find 145mph apart. It gets new ODO gears as doubt will have a second chance. Stripped one cluster to see how much room is available for mods.
Dash lighting is a mess on MN-12's. LED's will help some.
Yep, Weller DEC 1001. Good eye.
Way overdue for this old dog to learn new tricks. Having a grand time. Some pics.

Thanks,
Got a laugh. Pulled the 18 bulb/sockets off the 141k gauge cluster. 17 tested good last one just needed a remove and reset. 28 years old. Wish the spendy stuff had held up as well :-).
