Thanks guys!  Unfortunately, he and 15 fellow Marines are currently stuck at the airport in Charlotte, NC for maybe a second night.  They can't get into Jacksonville, NC because of the weather.  Big shout out to LaQuinta Inns for donating rooms for the men in uniform last night.  Sounds like they may be sleeping at the airport tonight though because all of the hotels for about 30 miles out are booked.  If anyone in the Charlotte, NC area has any ideas, please PM me as I am trying to help the guys out.

They should now if they are stranded for the night in the next 30 minutes.  I am Platinum Elite at Holiday Inn so I am going to see if I can use that to get a room but I doubt that it will work.   I have attached a very cool picture of Joey that was posted to the Official Parris Island FB Page during his training.  Most of the Michigan SMC Mafia have met him but I doubt they would recognize him now.

My son and one of his boot camp platoon members were able to get out on the last flight to Jacksonville, NC around 7PM this evening so they made it to Camp Geiger.  From what I was able to find out, a Charlotte area family took in the rest of the guys for the night.  It is amazing to see how nice most people are to our men and women of the military. I am noticing it more and more now that my son is in the Marines.

I am not sure if my son's sea bags made it to him yet but at least he wore his boots and carried on his shave kit, uniform bag and two sets of camo so he has some clothes until the rest of his stuff catches up.

Anyway, thanks for reaching out on behalf of the rest of the guys.  Hated the thought of them having to spend the night at the airport when they are already away from home.
