Very unique piece!
Is it just sitting on your furniture or is the wooden chest part of it?
What are the 4-5 knobs lined up on the back of the chest for?

The base is an original part of it. When I saw it in the ad I thought the same as you but once I saw it in person I realized it had some piping and guts and what looks like a metal box with drain to hold ice around these tubes. It seems like the tubes must have had something to do with carbonation or mixing. It is not complete by any means but some of the guts are there. I believe the granite is original also because it looks as if someone chiseled the holes maybe by hand. Holes I've seen in new granite tops are smooth and bored out or cut with a saw. Not like this. The items in the background are covers for the flavors containers Vanilla, Pineapple, Strawberry and Lemon. If you look close you can see the stamped writing on my previous pic. I would assume these were used to flavor the soda. The two in the middle are glass bottles maybe for the soda syrup. I wish I new more but I'm only speculating based on whats in front of me. Your guess is as good as mine.
