This is a soda fountain made by the Fletcher MNFG. Co. of Toronto,Canada. I'm guessing It's from around the 1890's. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago from a craigslist ad which was brought to my attention by MaineT. I found the fountain intriguing since I'd never seen one like it before so I figured I would go check it out. It did have some existing issue's, the two side lights did not stay in place but I have since had it repaired by the guys at Yankee Craftsman in Wayland, MA who normally work on antique lighting. These guys are amazing if anyone needs antique lighting rewired or repaired. Any who... As you would guess once I saw the fountain I couldn't leave without it. It is still missing the spout cap if anyone may have something that may work. I think I could modify a newer style spout that would do the job and look fine. I have yet to find much info on the company and have found limited info on the fountain itself. There only seems to be one picture online of the Polar D version which has some similar features. If anyone knows anything about it I'd love to hear. Thanks again for the tip Tim.

This is the only picture I could find of a fountain made by this company. It looks like it sprayed the soda or water into the glass globe top. Mine has a spray tip that goes up inside the globe and as I can tell from the picture this one does as well. I'm not sure if this was where the soda was mixed or what its purpose would be besides for maybe effects.

Looks great in place... I still want to see the vaseline glass shades under a UV black-light... They should GLOW green!
It was on CL for over a year with a dealer starting out at a kings ransom.... Over a year later, it was finally in reality, especially if you happen to have a turn of the century bar in your basement!

Here's a picture for each of you. Tim, I had no idea if it would really glow so I just had to try it. That is too cool. Looks like you are correct!

Very unique piece! Is it just sitting on your furniture or is the wooden chest part of it? What are the 4-5 knobs lined up on the back of the chest for?

The base is an original part of it. When I saw it in the ad I thought the same as you but once I saw it in person I realized it had some piping and guts and what looks like a metal box with drain to hold ice around these tubes. It seems like the tubes must have had something to do with carbonation or mixing. It is not complete by any means but some of the guts are there. I believe the granite is original also because it looks as if someone chiseled the holes maybe by hand. Holes I've seen in new granite tops are smooth and bored out or cut with a saw. Not like this. The items in the background are covers for the flavors containers Vanilla, Pineapple, Strawberry and Lemon. If you look close you can see the stamped writing on my previous pic. I would assume these were used to flavor the soda. The two in the middle are glass bottles maybe for the soda syrup. I wish I new more but I'm only speculating based on whats in front of me. Your guess is as good as mine.
