Well, after reading some old posts tonight, I started thinking what some of your names here mean, and some are obvious (Slider Bob or Eric... I assume ur names lol)

But others, like mine, can be puzzling.

My name BONOVOX comes from me being a HUUUGE U2 fan.  The lead singer, Bono whos real name is Paul Hewson, when the band first started when they were teenagers, went by the stage name of BONOVOX which in Latin means beautiful voice.  He got that name from a hearing aid store in his town that was called BONOVOX.
As a side note, to show how big a fan I am of U2... I actually named my son JOSHUA, with his middle name being TREE.  I never thought my wife would have agreed to that, but when he was born we agreed on Joshua, and as a somewhat joke, I said how about TREE, and she said she liked it!!  and so, Joshua Tree is my son Shocked)
I use BONOVOX or ACHTU2NG (which is my VW Golf license plate lol) for most of my names on the net.

So what does your name here on SMC mean? Would like to hear if there is a story behind it... etc...

Mysterious Ways was the 2nd song on our wedding playlist.

My user name is just a play on words and Johnny Cash's "My name is Sue, how do you do!"

In 1977 when I started playing college baseball everyone on the team had a nick name . The coaches and team captains would come up with them and when the program came out all the new players would find out what it was. Being a home run hitter they took my first two letters of my last name and added hammer - cohammer

No story behind mine, K for Ken and Bare it is the proper pronunciation of Barrett. Or a fun use is when I tell some one to kiss my arse and they tell me to bare it "that's my name, don't wear it out"  tounge

Mine is work related.

Sar - is the abbreviation for Search + Rescue.
man - is me.
47 - is for 47' Motor Lifeboat.

Have been working for the Canadian Coast Guard for 27 years. I was the Engineer on the first of now 11 47' Motor Lifeboat in the Great Lakes, back in 1999. Came ashore in 2010 and am currently sailing a desk (better home life).

Oh yes, and more time for coke machines.

Mine is just my old radio number from my first fire department.

I should work on the creativity thing.
