Does E bay offer the seller a cancellation option once the listing ends?

I found your auction and the sellers disclaimer :
There will be a 300 deposit (non Refundable) upon sell threw PayPal and cash or certified cashiers check on pickup guaranteed funds. This machine is also available for sale locally do reserve the right to end this auction at any time

So my question would be - is tossing this phrase in worth anything?   "also available for sale locally do reserve the right to end this auction at any time"

I can say I'm the King of England in the description, doesn't make it legally binding.

I always understood when the hammer falls, you bought it and the seller is obligated to sell it!  Period.

I feel that way myself. eBay like to remind buyers it's a binding contract or agreement, not so sure about sellers. I doubt there's much effective recourse other than bad feedback or some sort of report to eBay. If you didn't actually send any money, I don't know what could be done. I thought eBay use to have a "Non-selling Sellers" report option, but since they started forcing their PayPal monopoly on everyone I've dealt very little on eBay and am not up-to-date.

It looks like a scam to me. It may be better that she cancelled it. Here's what I see:

1. Her feedback is only 10 and ther are over a year ago
2. She only had 1 pic do the machine and all of the others are from a brochure. She probably took the pic at an antique store and thought she could get big $$ from someone.

With the amount of scams out there today I would just forget about it and be glad that you aren't out $1225.00 or more.

Just my opinion

There are a bunch of pic's you missed.  I think the seller still has it, mad because it didn't go as high as expected.

That's what reserves are supposed to be for, though I'm not an huge fan of them.

Sorry that one went south on you. Hopefully there will be a better one in your future. I hate it when people are not honest.

I have a feeling that she was using ebay to see what price value to sell it locally for.

Yep sorry. I still think that you shukd just be thankful.mif she was willing to canx the auction after it was completed, there might have been more behind it. We have all had those we wish we would have won or did and didn't get the product and were out $$$. Be glad you weren't.
