Anyone see Pickers lately. I think they are running out of places to pick.  The show seems to going more toward old motorcycles.  Last nights show was about a guy in NY that makes art out of old car parts.  Seems like things are really drying up right now.

       I think it's production costs.
It must take a crew a full week just to haul boxes of junk into old barns, plant a few good pieces, then blow dust onto the whole movie set.

I was watching it the other night when I saw a Pepsi VMC 88 on there.  It had a dented corner on the door.  There was no check to see if it ran, etc.  Mike offered $1500 for it, which the guy immediately took.  Mike said he would've paid $2k.  In the end, Mike said was going to ask $2500 for it.  Wow.

Wayne, I saw that episode also. I told my wife that was a $500-600 machine tops without knowing if the insides were there or if it ran. Most of the time I am pretty close to what they offer or get it for but they have been paying more these days than they had before. I guess it's like the others stated, "it's starting to dry up for the places to pick"

So does anyone know if an item was sold by them for the "I'm gonna ask" price?
I tend to believe that they actually ask way more $$$ in real life than they do on TV.

Last night's episode was strange.  Lets not make an offer or even discuss the huge Sincliar sign in the background, but I will give you $50 for this reproduction toolbox you scribbled on.

Almost as awkward as Vulture.

More so in the early days of the show, but I think that when it is a legit call, the show shows what they think would make good T.V.
They can't keep showing Mike and Frank buying Texaco signs every episode.
I noticed that too, where they drive to a place for hours, then they only buy like 200 bucks worth of stuff, yet there are HUNDRES of signs etc there for the taking (when the seller says everything is for sale).

I'm sure when the cameras are off, they haul in everything that's worth haulin.
