Please help me identify this coke machine

Hi guys,
Could you please help me ID this machine (supposedly from 1957)? I looked in the photos in the Soda Machines section of this website, but didn't see a match.

Once ID'd, any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
Also, do any of you guys own one just like this one?

What you have is a version of the Vendo 216; off the top of my head, a V-216 MD.

It is missing the coin mechanical parts. Anyone know where I can get the replacement for that?

You must be right about it being a V-216 MD, because though I didn't see it in the Vendo gallery here (just other 216's that don't look anything like it), I did a Google search and saw the V-216 MD here and it looks identical:

Some of those big old machines look real nice, as long as you don't have to move them, especially up or down stairs!

Yeah, you see, that's the problem... I have to move it doen the stairs to my basement. Yikes!

when I go pick it up at the guy's garage, I assume I can lay the machine on it's back in the truck? What is recommended, as I've never moved a coke machine before.
Any and all advice is needed and requested.

Yes, you can move it on it's back, but you'll have to let it sit upright again about 24hrs. before firing up the compressor again ( the oil inside the compressor will migrate into the lines & you'll have to give it time to return to the compressor).

& you are going to have SO much fun getting it downstairs!  '> . I've got a Westinghouse WC-102-MD machine in my basment ( about the same height & weight) Tons of fun! literally! , so be carefull!!!

How did you get it down the stairs? How many men? Ropes and harnesses too or just guys above and below?

Well due to lack of head-room on the steps ( couldn't get the dolly to tilt low enough with any kind of control) We ended up with it on it's back & sliding it down the steps on some 2x4's covered with OSB screwed to it (to for a slide) and then we covered the OSB with a carpet remnant (to prevent scratching up the back) so basically with two guys on the bottom to control the "slide" & two guys on the top of the steps . the machine was straped with two tie-down straps from top to bottom, we kept the top end centered & the guys on the bottom of the steps eased it down to the landing & then we stood it back up again...see the attached cheesy drawing....PS I suggest that you place your least favorite brother-in-laws and or people who owe you money at the bottom of the steps!   '>

I wasn't saying I wanted to make you move it, just good to have a pal with Coke machine knowledge in your own region, thas all.

Actually I would suggest putting people that you owe money to at the bottom (no big loss if they get smucked by a big coke machine, means you don't have to pay them!!) keep people who owe you money out of harms way

johnnieg, that's a great method to slide a machine down basement stairs.  

I wish I had thought of that when I moved a Vendorlator 242 into my basement ten years back.  '>   I haven't walked upright since...

I sold it a year later and had to get it UP the stairs - what a monstrosity of a machine.

By the way, what does the "MD" stand for? Multi Drink? Multi Door?
