VMC 27 - deal or no deal?

So, I had been watching a listing on Ebay that had this VMC27 listed for a starting price of $824. I thought it was a bit high for the condition, but I've been looking for one of these to restore for quite some time now.
Today, I logged in and noticed they changed the price to $1224 BuyItNow. Now here's the fun part...
This same machine is also listed on Craigslist for $950 "firm" they say.
Links are below for your viewing pleasure, but I'm curious. What do you think this dented up machine would be worth? Maybe $300-$500? I'm just guessing.
No Stand and a decent amount of dents. Any thoughts welcome!

I'd say your correct , i woudn't pay more than 500. A lot of it depends on market, how often do they show up near you?

Yea, that's what I thought...just wanted some other opinions on it.
I actually won a "pepsi" version on ebay (it was around buffalo, NY) with the enclosed stand and steel a few months back, then the seller never shipped it. I won it for $668. Wound up getting my money back.
VMC 27's don't show up much here in Florida. Been looking for one for quite some time. Found a Cavalier 72 and V-44 here, but no response from the sellers.
I do however see them in the northeast quite often though. Just looking for a nice garage project.
-Also, seems to be more square top machines here...some pretty cheap ($150-$350).

I'm in Mulberry.....between Orlando and Tampa. Small town just south of Lakeland.

After I posted this and got a little feedback, I called them. No answer.
So I sent a text and got this reply: N….O….!
Zach:
Now you're making me wish I lived out west if things are that cheap!
The "crazies" over here that have them for sale never wind up selling them because they want too much money!
Got anything for sale?

I'm heading out to Las Vegas next month for a convention. Maybe I should spend an extra day and dig around over there if that's the case!
