How hard to bring this wet cooler back to life? No interest in restoring it, just getting it working. The motor\compressor is completely dead, so Id just replace the unit. My concern is around the water cooling, etc. The lines on this one look a bit more complex then say a WE-6. I also know this is a galvanized tub, so it's possible there are pinholes throughout creating more headaches. Basically I need you to talk me out of buying this unit since that gorgeous blue has me completely transfixed on forking over the cash.

Its just seems like a lot of work for the back patio for a wet cooler.

Perhaps, you look around for a Ideal 55 Slider missing all the parts.  The Slider would be a great box to have outside on the patio.  It's smaller, compact, and it' s a dry box.

I find myself wanting to drag everything home, than you realize later; "What am I going to do with this thing?"

Truer words haven't been spoken. I think I'm in love with the idea of dragging this machine home, but the reality will be much different. I realize water coolers are a total pain in the arse.

Not a pain in the ass at all depending on what you are going to use it for. Forget about restoring the wet bath function. Expensive and of little use.
These are very cool for a large gathering on the back deck.
Couple of bags of ice and bottles of whatever and you are set. Leaks in the liner help for drainage :-) Make the outside look nice and you are done.

If you need a new and improved tank for it, I have one made out of stainless steel that I had made for one of my customers that bailed on the project. depends on your budget. or you can easily have an HVAC shop bend up a new one out of galvanized stock.

Or if you're ambitious, you could convert it to becoming an air cooled system.
