Thanks for the nice words everyone ! ! ! I will be calling and bug you on some question when I get ready to do mine.
Anytime I can help, I will... How long did each machine take to resore, start to finish?
Well... I didn't really keep track of my time as I did a little here and there as time permitted... But I would estimate it took approx. a month to six weeks of fiddling around... Did you do the paint work yourself? I did paint this machine myself using Hammerite Paint and since this is the same paint used on my Stoner Senior, I felt the extra practice yielded better results on the Junior. I find it a little difficult to get the "hammered" finish to be consistent on ALL surfaces, especially any vertical surfaces, but the planets were all aligned as was the sun & moon so I am very pleased with the overall finish... |

Jim,The paint does look awesome.. did you spray it out of a gun or can?  I find it hard to get it consistant out of a can... love the hammered finish... I'm thinking of doing mine in a burnt orange hammered look... I saw an original like that ,looked cool.

 Signguy,
I used cans of blue Hammerite Paint on mine, which at first didn't look the best, but what made all the difference is once I was done spraying a few coats, I then sanding it with 600grit sand paper then sprayed it with auto clear coat. It  gave it a nice  smooth consistence finish, advice I got from a auto painter.

John, I bought the paint in quarts and sprayed via a HVLP w/ a large tip, 1.8 |

cool, thats what I figured, I can get it in quart sizes as menards.. and have done it too in the past both ways... HVLP gun results much better than rattle can for large areas... |

Ray--that machine turned out good--looks a lot better than it did when I sold it to you.  Post a few more pictures so we can check out your work!    Tim |

So are you  saying Jim that your restoration is a little ahead of mine? ps  I love the "squirrel cage" that was used in outdoor machines to keep the mice out. BC |
