Misrepresenting something is wrong, but as it relates to the producers of the show having him do things that aren't 100% ethical is not suprising. I think that American Pickers are from the same production company and I read that Danielle the "gal" at the shop was hired specific for the show. She is a burlesque performer and roller derby girl... Which was just the show needed to balance out the lack of personality from the other guys... Its unfair if someone is mislead and I hopefully one's reputation would mean more than ratings but... I wouldn't bet on it.

I hope they revamped it... like actually showing the restoration process and showing a little more respect for the items they are restoring.. did anyone see the one with the golf cart.... how they yanked it off the truck.. breaking a piece before it even got into the shop or the one where they warped the crap out of the Hersey Candy dispenser by sand blasting the thin, frail metal backing.... You would think they would already have known that would warp.... Show the process of making the parts needed... or history of the object they are restoring.... I don't need to see the staged pranks or jokes... We'll see... He (show) won't make it if it stays the same...

That episode was on this afternoon Eric, first time I watched the show. I was rolling on the floor when they were all amazed about soda blasting . And then annoyed when they charged one customer $2500 and 500 for parts to restore a bike ( not a motor cycle, a pedal bike, and another one that restored 1950's refrigerators sell for 6000 restored.

I like the show...
the 39 to a 72 trick, was for filming only. Just because you're a tv producer, doesn't mean you're the sharpest knife in the drawer. We caught it, 99.99% of everyone else...didn't. That's television!

True.... 99.9999 % of the people did not catch the lie, but if I ask 1 million people to buy land, swamp land that looks like farm land, and only 1 person buys it, it still makes me a sleezy swamp salesman!

It's amazing he's still in business. I recall looking at his website a couple of years ago and his workmanship was crap.

Just watched the episode of were Ric restored a Hop along bicycle. He charged the guy 3k for the restoration and the rear coaster brake arm wasn't even attached to the frame during the unvailing. For 3k he should at least put a freaking bolt on the brake arm. Jeez...
