Won these two original Westinghouse Juniors off eBay last week for a winning bid of $99! Much thanks to GreginTex for pointing them out to me.

Did I need them - NO, but I could not resist!

I had them in my eBay Watchlist after Greg sent me the link (even wrote to him saying thanks, but no need or room for them) and would have forgotten completely about them if it hadn't been for the d#*% eBay Watch notice email. When I got the email, I checked of course and no one had bid on the $99 NR and 13 minutes left. I sat and counted down the 13 minutes and still no bids. So I waited 12m50 (or so) and sent my $100 in and won. If someone had just placed a bid, then I would not have been tempted!

Picked them up today with a 2 & 1/2 hr round trip.
Nice solid coolers - no original paint left, no hinges, handles or cap catchers, but I think they are all reproduced. Were the handles unique? In the bottom of the black one were the two ends of what I think used to be that art deco looking handle.

Attached is the only pic I have currently...will post some better ones soon.

Oh yeah - original embossed lids that are nice and solid too.

PM'd with Greg last night and he's taking one when he passes through PHX in a month or so.

What a great deal!! For some reason that is one machine that I have never had and they are really cool. I would spray one white with a rattle can first then red and sand off the red on the letters so the white shows through on the letters then relist it on ebay. Be honest that it needs restoration and is painted with a spray can. I have found that making it look like it is supposed to look makes it sell so much better. I bet you will triple your $$$ on one cooler.

It has happened to me several times before - my doctor says nothing can be done!

I noticed the black cooler has curved feet (like half moon shaped) and the stripped cooler has sled type feet. My Vendo Junior has sled feet too.
Anybody know anything about the differences?

Here is a picture of the two ends to a handle. Can somebody ID it? What did it originally look like? Anyone have one they want to part with?

Congrats. I love those little Ice Boxes. And they are so simple to restore.

Tom,
Does it appear one of the coolers may have had electric refrigeration at some point...?
Some of the early Westy/Cavalier coolers had painted/silver feet depending on wet/dry refrigeration.

I'm not sure I've ever really noticed different feet on Juniors... Hhmmm...

Nice find, none the less!

Nope - no holes on the side for attaching the line cover and none on the rails for attaching the compressor deck.

I don't know that the ends I have pictured are even the handle for the machine. They were just in it, but both machines have been stripped of most everything so who knows. Ever seen anything like my handle? What cooler were they on? What does your handle look like? Email me a pic when you get a chance.

I've been  off line for a bit during our move...it's good to catch up and see what is going on!
