Hi all,

I just got my first machine and am trying to set it up.  I know very little about these machines, I'm more of a pinball guy.

It has a VP-50 mech. and is set at 50 cents, exact change, quarters only.

Is there a way to change it to accept nickels and dimes as well.

Can I set it to make change?

Currently the top right crem is energized, should I bend the pins from the other crems?

Thanks,

Wayne

If you go to the downloads section (on the main page), I think there is an instruction book in there for this mech.

Also, WELCOME to the board!

Welcome to the site.  The manual you are looking for is in the Download section.

Thanks for the info.  I've seen that sheet before.  It does not explain how to make the mech return change.

Is the VP-50 capable of making change?

One common problem is the nickel tubes need to be at least half full in both.

Thanks,

I have coins in both the dime and nickel tubes,  but not half full....I'll try it and see what happens.

I'll keep you posted......

Hi Wayne,
Welcome to the board! Wayne got my email off the web somewhere and had been emailing me about his first machine. I suggested he join SMC for Q&A's. He's got a ST56! You need to post pics of the machine Wayne! Everybody likes pictures here and everybody likes to help, so post and ask away.

Thanks Tom,

I had to call the site administrator to gain access.  All is well now.

I  have a HA56,  Will get pics eventually (It needs some work).  I can put up some "before" pics.

I noticed on the coin mech that someone wrote  1/4's only.  and the coin acceptor accepts quarters but nickels and dimes pass through, even though the acceptor has pathways for nickels and dimes.

If I drop 50 cents in nickels or dimes or any combination of coins other than quarters, the machine won't vend.
