 I Think Huh? JonnieG had the RC Cooler . I also had one like the picture but traded it on a resto job . I'll check for Pic When I get Home .

      In looking at your picture of the broken gasket, I see the lower section as
being pretty close to that of the Ideal slider while the upper part is not gasket
but simple breaker strip which can be painted and re-used.

No breaker strips . Just a solid gasket the lid and outer body set on . I will have to remove the outer panels to remove the gasket .When I get that far on tear down I will post a pick of the gasket removed and go from there . Thanks

If you get lids made think about using that insulation foam board you
get at LOWES or HOME DEPOT... it's blue 4'X 8' sheet... would be perfect for the
lining and be light weight.... I would be afraid the wood would just absorb moisture
warp and make them heavier.
I bet the handles are original too they look like the ones on the
Orange Squeeze cooler I have.. is there one screw per end?

anyway keep us up to date when you start the restoration.

Do you still have that 7up S&S cooler? If I remember it had sliding lids. Can you take come pic of how the lid works to compare?
