Local purchase (Philly). Took some work but the price was right. Did some research, this was the predecessor to the modern day AAA Club.

Sweet score!... if that's porclein... check out oldgas.com they could tell you how to clean it that rust stain or a lot of it should come right off!....

I love the old gas signs. Your automobile club sign is both unique and rare. I would hold on to that if I were you.

The first pic is the sign after alot of scrubbing, the second is the original. The sign is porcelain and had some deep rust stains, some remain but hard to see in pic. I also applied a coat of Feed-n-Wax.

The woman I bought this off of said she found it in a vacant lot some 30 years ago. Probably an old site of a service station that was torn down.

I really like it and plan on keeping. smile
