A bad ballast will burnout a brand new florecent tube.
Checking through past refrigeration discussions on this post will greatly help you analyze the cooling problem.

Yes, I agree with moondawg, you've got a shorted out ballast in the light fixture, & I believe the 102 has two tubes?

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Welcome to the board!! Plenty of help here just ask. You like it that is the important thing. A big machine won't sell as fast as the smaller versions but for a home party machine these can't be beat. Bunch of selections and no need to reload every hour or two. Creighton

Thanks guys! i think i figured out whats wrong i took the top cooler thing off and the fan doesn't spin at all. what kind of motor is that? and can i replace it? the lower fan and compressor runs for like 30 and hours and then shuts off, but its not hot or anything slightly warm maybe but not bad and the condenser coils get nice and cold so you think thats the problem? thanks guys!

That fan type, where the whole front half of the fan turns, is used on Westinghouse machines almost exclusively. Westinghouse did most of their stuff (in house) whereas Vendo and Cavalier had various suppliers. No replacement that I know of. You will have to make some modifications to the mount. Somebody here did this and posted pics - MCarter? BrianB? 90grad? I can't quite remember

Tom, Yep, that was me. There is a thread on it located here... http://soda-machines.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,29/topic,7252.0/It's not too hard to do and I recommend using the smaller fan blade, so the clearance isn't so critical. Also, don't run your machine until you get the top fan fixed. While you are at it, you may want to replace the lower fan, too. Get another motor, but you'll have to buy a new mounting bracket and blade. Get what's called a foot-mount. This attaches to the bottom of the newer fan motors. Funtronics or Soda Jerk Works sells all this stuff.
