First up a VMC 110 generic I dont have it in hand yet but I will have it in a couple months.

I ended up making a deal with Joy on the board here with my restored V39 for her rough 39, a V80 and a few other odds and ends.

And by far my favorite a pair of original Mobil Gas special lenses, and a Mobilgas lense on a metal body

That 39 looks good from the front side.

I restored a 39 last year that was rusted out just below the bottle door, just
like the one shown. Must have been a condensation problem there.
But the rust in the back corner?  In California I have never seen this happen.
Can anybody explain how just one area can disinigrate, leaving the rest of the metal
in tact?

If it was outside part of the machine could have been under an overhang and the water ruoff could have hit the machine at just that spot.

I had a VMC88 that had bad rust in only one spot and it was at the corner of the base. I attached a pic. It was siting outside protected under a roof but the runoff water pooled right at the base of the machine and only the right front part of the base and front door rusted out.

Other than laying it on its' side and tying a pitbull up to it tounge

If a machine is not level, condensation will accumulate at the lowest point.
Most manufacturers suggested a 1" clearance from the feet to the bottom of the machine.
Also, they say the main door should not move from the point you open it to - in other words, if you open it to the 90 degree point, then it should not drift closed or further open - same with the 45 degree point or the 135 degree point.

Nice finds, Joey!  Looks like the V-39 will be a fun project!

Is that Dr. Pepper green peeking out from under the Coke red on that VMC-110??   tounge

Good eye Greg. Joey that was probably an original Dr Pepper 110! Now you just need the signs. I honestly like the 110's. They are bigger than the 81's but they still are not too big. What are you going to do with that 110 Joey? That would make a great theme machine!

The 110 is a real deal original Dr Pepper and will be painted that cool mint green with a porcelain sign fixed to the front like original.
