Guys,
I am thinking of having my first soda machine inside done with powder coating. It this a good idea? What is the best way to restore the insides of an old machine, this way or another way? Here is what I am up against. The inside of my VMC 88 is in ok shape, but needs to have something done. Looking for recomendations here. I found a local guy that will do the rack and inside liner pretty cheap.

Brian, I think powder coating is supposed to be the most durable but more expensive... but most of us that do the work ourselves use hammerite or hammertone. Question of cost and capability.

I was thinking about having the liner and all interior parts powder coated on the ideal 55 I'm doing but didn't know if that would hurt the outer liner clips that hold the cooling coils?

You could also have it zinc plated.... that's the closest thing to galvaninzing ... but I PM'd you about the powder coating.... Hammertone
is what I'm gonna do to the liners and shelves for my 56RT....
but they are clean originals just want that new look and it'll give them an extra protection... Hammertone holds up really tuff....
And powder coating can still scratch and chip.....

Hammertone it.... no sense in powder coating a part that is seldom seen only by you when you load the machine!!
Spend money on a good paint job/graphics/chrome.

Brian,
I wouldn't bother powder coating the tub. Your just throwing away money as far as I am concerned. Here's what I do. High pressure wash it and scrub with SOS pads to remove any residue. lightly sandblast it and spray it with Rustoleum hammertone paint. I thin the paint out with just enough reducer to make it flow good. the paint is avail. at Lowe's
