Well I am now moved into my new apartment in Bangkok. Wow this place is alot different than singapore. Everything is really cheep but dirty. I bought a nice one bedroom apartment in town for only $315 US per month. Not bad. the best thing is all of the soda is in glass bottles. And you can find every brand here. So far I found Bierley's orange, RC, of course Coke and pepsi, all of the fanta flavors, 7up, sprite, Dr Pepper and several others and they are about $.15 each and is big bottles. What a cool place.
I found a Pepsi bottle cap at a restraunt. I have no doubts that it is an origional and is from the 50's or earlier. It is an embossed cap with drink Pepsi Cola embossed. I didn't think to look if it was double dot or not. The cool thing is above the Pepsi cola it is in Thai but not embossed. I am going to try and go back to buy it but the big question is what would something like that be worth? I wouldn't be selling it so it really doesn't matter but i still don't want to over pay. This place is a cool restraunt. It is owned by a local and it has all kinds of old stuff in it. It even has an old electro-mechanical Gottleb pinball in it. However it is kindof tucked away and doesn't get much business so I am sure he will sell the cap if the money is right. I was thinking of offering 2000 baght which is about $40 US.

Josh,

How long will you be in Thailand?  Is this your last stop before returning to the US?

I have no idea. we just opened a branch in malaysia and the philippines. i will be floating between them but this will be my home base for a while. i like it. as of last night i have some furniture now. when you buy drinks at the market in quantity you get them in plastic or in cans like the us. it is only at the street stores and markets that you can buy glass bottles and they are sold individually so yesterday i set it up with the local street market to sell me coke in bottles by the case. get this 24 12oz bottles for under $5. the guy thought i was nuts too. he kept asking why i didn't just go buy it in cans or 1 litre bottles. i tried to explain but there is a huge language barrier here. he is going to start ordering extra for me. i will have a cse next week.

What does a single bottle go for at these markets?
also, are they returnables?

Terry, I am over here working for my Father. he owns a company named dataclean. We are a cleaning and consulting company for controlled access environments such a cleanrooms and computer rooms. he started the company last year in singapore we have since expanded into Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippians. I am taking over the Thailand office. It is alot of fun so far but the language barrier is really bad.

Brent, I just got my case yesterday and  24 12oz bottles were just over $5US. Not too bad. They are generally about $.15 each.
