Ok I am really having a bad day. I haven't repainted the coin door from its face plant but I decided to see if I could get everything to fit before I repainted it. Well I am glad I did. I am trying to mount the coin mech. A coinco is basically the same size as a large door mech so I Put in my large door coin mech from the 88 to see where it fits. I then put tape around where the mechanical mech fit. I then took it off and put the coinco in its place. I marked where the new mounting holes need to be and drilled them. I mounted the coinco and then installed the coin door. Well this is where my problem is. The door will not close with the coin mech installed. The coin door is from a V83 electric machine and I thought that it was the same size as a normal large coin door. And from what I can see it is the same size. The coinco and my normal large c=door mechanical mech are the same size. I tried to shim the door at the hinge and so far I have it shimmed 7 washers and it still wont close. If anyone can help please try. Any pictures you can offer any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. I will post several pics to show what I am having problems with.

Well Josh all I know is the Vendo 80 coin door is not the same dimension as the 81.   80 is not as deep. Maybe this is your problem too ?

Ok that makes since but still the 80 has a coin mech in it so why doesn't mine fit. DOes the V80 have a bump out in the main door where the coin mech goes like the 81?

Hi Josh,
You are in luck!
I just happened to have my V80 out for something today. The coin door is definately not as big as my VMC110 and the coin mech area is recessed by about an inch (see pic). I can get a better pic tomorrow.

Well, hmmm???
You could try to find a large door coin door.
or
You could cut out and weld in a recessed area for the V83 coin door or JUST for the mech area
or
You could modify the V83 coin door itself.
or
You could keep it as is with no mech and make it strictly a free vend machine.

I think the easiest would be the last - it would still function and look good, yet not be absolutely fully functional. Probably wouldn't get $1800 for it though.

I am going to try to modify the door itself first. Well I am going to have Kate modify it. I think I only need another 1/4 inch for it to fit so we are going to try to work on the hinge first. I think we might be able to pull it off. We aren't going to do too much to it at first to see if it will work and if it doesn't I think this will be a free vend machine. I would just wire it up so that when you push the coin release it would trigger the switch. That is a last resort. I am really bummed about this. The machine is almost done and thsi happens. Anyway Here is a pic of the inside. The rest of the machine is really comming along.

I almost forgot does anyone have a wiring diagram for a square top 56? I need one to wire this machine up. Since this was a mechanical machine I need to know how to wire the Jones plug. If anyone has one to scan or has a PDF manual please send it to jdloman2000@yahoo.com
