I need help with the 56.

Well kate moved the hinge out about a half inch and welded in a strip to hold the hinge in place but it still doesn't shut with a coin mech installed. Here is a pic. If anyone has any advice please share it. We are stumped. If I can't find a non change giving metal electric coin mech I guess this will have to be a free vend machine. The good news is I got it wired up and it is vending great.

Is there a certain part on the mech that is causing it to not close right.  In the pic it looks like the coin entry is kind of high.  If that is the problam I imagine that you can shave it down.

It hits on the corner of the mech. As you close it the whole left corner catches so the whole mech is too large. I need to find a simple metal coin mech and cut the case and take out and inch or so and weld it back together. That would be great. Without the coin mech everything fits great. I agree with shimming but we already moved the hinge 1/4 to 1/2 inch and then we added andother 1/8 inch worth of shimms and it sill wouldn't close. now with all of that shimming we have about 1/2 inch gap around the rest of the door.

Turn it into a Vendo 6 Case machine? Hee hee!

Would it be possible to cut a strip of metal and weld it around the circumference of the coin door (basically, making it deeper by adding to the rear of it)?  There would be some grinding and shaping or corners maybe.  Then, you might have to add a shim to the coin slot so it lines up with the bezel.  Just thinking out loud.

Well Josh, you need to make up that inch.  Here is a thought. Can you purchase some aluminum channel 1" wide and 1/2" high and bend it the same shape as the perimiter of your coin door. It could be painted separately and screwed onto the main door from the backside. 
       Latches will need to be longer too. Good thing you have a welder-ess. '>

I think cutting into the door and creating a recessed area to hold the coin mech would be cleaner than modifying the small door (although not as easy as the free vend plan).  All the "work" would be hidden behind the original unmodified door. The welder-ess could create a lipped pan that could be seated into the hole and then welded or riveted to the large door.  If the depth was correct you may not need to shim or realign the coin mech to the coin slot.
