Quote (davethebirdman @ Jan. 26 2006,12:45) | I was hoping that I might be able to get hold of an original. | Dave, other than you and us.......once it is hanging on your wall, who will notice if it's real? Nice original double bubble clocks sell for more than $1000.00 to collectors here. The reproductions look real nice, no paint flaking off the glass. You may also consider the safer shipping, the packaging is made to fit the clock.

Dave, I picked up this original at an estate auction last year. Got it for $225. Did some slight restoration to some flaking paint and clear coat to seal and preserve. It ran fine for about 2 weeks,, then the old motor gave out. Was difficult to find a replacement but finally found one on the internet..was about $40 I think. I don't think the repo's have the Pam lettering at the top like mine pictured. Date of this one is 1965.

Dave, I am with Moondawg the repro's are super nice and you really have to look close to tell the difference.
Most of the orginals go for at least $700 plus unless you just get lucky and find a deal.
I do know of an orginal Dr Pepper that a friend of mine has it is the octagon style with neon around the edge. He wants $800 for it but it is a very nice clock that is about the best I have heard on an orginal soda pop clock...

Love the Shasta clock!... What steal/deal! I would think Shasta is a tough brand to collect. Way to go!

Hello Everyone.
Glenn - I take your point about nobody knowing and especially the packing. It will have to go a fair way.
I found this today whilst searching Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....IT&rd=1
Has anyone got any comments on this. I welcome all your points of view and will probably air towards a new rather than origninal.
Dave

That's a nice looking DP clock. I don't think the florescent ring light inside is the original light. '>
