Here are two VMC 56 machines in South Carolina.  Maybe Kevin C and his "Rescue Team" could snag these.  The eBay # is 7580316029.

Hello

Yes I saw them.

I am kinda in the soda machine twilight zone right now. I have the big Choice Vend at work being cleaned & upgraded. I hope to have it in operation next week. I just bid on an old Lance Candy machine for work. I  have had the Thrifty vend in the middle of the garage (wife's parking spot) for two weeks getting ready to paint. I have someone who wants a small coke machine & these two machines are Pepsi

I dont want to push my luck with my supportive family.

Yes I am going to bid on them & I have been in contact with the sellers.

The Rescue Team- Thanks for asking about them. Let me brag about two great young men.   Son is playing basketball & co-pilot is wrestling.  Both of these two young men are going to the Citadel (military college) next year & plan on playing football. My son is being offered an academic ride to attend college, study electrical engineering & have a chance to live his dream of playing college football.

Life is good!

Kevin,

Great to hear the details about the "Rescue Team."  Wish your son and his friend all the best for me.

I also hope you get the machines (more classics for "the SMC family").

People don't want an antique soda machine........ They all want "an old Coke machine"   '<img'>

It's amazing how one company has achieved such dominance over our population.

You Know

I would love to get my hands on something other than Coke. A nice Dr Peppers or 7UP.
I don't think things like that were ever shipped this far.

I wonder if Coke had the monopoly in all the airbases?? That might account for no other vintage machine brands. Even at shows in this country the Dutch dealers only ever have Coke. Glenn guess you're right nobody wants anything else.

Sorry

bit more. I read an article in a UK paper the other day, for the first time in History Pepsi has overtaken Coca Cola on the stock market listings. It would appear that Pepsico has been very clever in its purchasing of smaller profitable companies and has managed to diversify much better than CC.

Soft drink sales still favour CC masively over here must still be the same in the US.

If you want one of these two pepsi machines I will work with you to get it shipped. I can give the machine a standard upgrade -cleaning I give all my machines. The upgrade includes cleaning of the coils, two new fan motors, new T-stat & new wiring harness. Plus make sure it cools when I am done. If you want I can make sure the vend system works.

Well I would not ship you a lemon anyways

Let me know because I am right here in the Charleston area & the shipping port.

Kevin.. I noticed in a few of your posts you mention changing the fan motors and wire harnesses routinely. Why? I haven't touched them on the 2 machines I'm running now, and all seems good. Am I missing something?

Ken

I always remove the refrigeration systems, remove the fan motors, clean the upper & lower coils with spray cleaner & a good hard spray with the water hose to remove the stuff clogging the coils & effecting the heat transfer, I then paint the coils, install new fan motors, new T-stat & wiring harness.

I do this because in my business (heating/air) we preach preventive maintenance. I think all of the 9 machines I have owned none have never been cleaned & the parts I replace are 30 to 40 years old.   Plus all of my machines are for sale to my friends. It would be bad to sell a machine to a friend & have it crap out.

You could just clean the coils & let it run. But I dont want my machine to go belly up the day I need it most.

I've degreased the coils on both my machines. I have a wash bay at work and we use a degreaser to clean our machinery before paint. Its a pretty rough soap, so I can't use it on the outside, but Spray Nine works good for that stuff. I guess I haven't gotten into any older machines yet, so everything else has still been good. I'm impressed with how cool they both get after sitting for a few years...
