Picked up a rough ideal 55 cooler this evening. It has the embossed DADS root beer on the front. Lid is pretty rough and it’s missing the rack in the coin box, but  The box seems to be in pretty good shape and  I thought this was a fairly rare machine so I went ahead and picked it up. I know very little about the slider machines so looking for some input from the slider guys.  I’ll post some pics if anybody wants after I unpack it tomorrow and look it over a little closer

Great find !! I consider the Dads embossed Ideal Slider to be second hardest to get !! I believe the Tru-Ade is number one hardest to find I’ve only seen one and a member hear had it and sold it to a friend I know . I just had a Barq’s ideal 55 restored .  They are costly to restore. Can’t post a picture as I’m using an I pad and don’t know how to make it small enough  tounge

Dad's Slider is impossible to find. It's the Slider that always stumps everybody who tries to collect the set. Yes there is the Tru Ade that I'm sure is tougher that was discovered a few years ago. I had probably the nicest or one of the top 2 nicest originals, shown in my profile photo. Sold it a few years ago only because someone offered me $7,000 for it or else I would still own it.

Well mine looks nothing like the one in your photo but for that kind of money I would have sold it too.  Still trying to decide what to do with this one.  Redoing the logo will be a challenge I don’t know how to handle yet

Brian

Let me know if you decide to sell it . I’d be interested in it to go with my Barq’s

I’ll probably never see another one so I hate to sell it but I am not sure of any local resources to tackle the logo.  Will at least clean it up and see how how it looks. Body is solid and it cools so those are the biggest positives. Would love to get it to the condition of your Barq’s. That’s a great looking machine.

I fall into that same category.  I have never sold anything I bought before other than some miscellaneous parts to help another person out who needed a piece I had laying around.  May eventually end up looking to swap the Dads for something else unique rather than sell it if I can't find a resource to do a quality job on the embossed logo.
