I picked up a repro Little Nut Hut a few weeks ago.  I wanted one for work, and I didn't want to bring in one of my original ones.  I would worry about it getting damaged.

The new design works well, but it is a bit ugly in my opinion.  I didn't care for the roof color, the wimpy light bulb, or the gaudy writing on the front (Hot, Delicious, Nutritious).  It was also much harder to disassemble and clean.  Cosmetically, I just didn't like it.  Mechanically, it works the same.  Electrically, the heaters are much hotter.  The original heater was a 10 watt heater.  The new heaters are 17 watts.  I temped the nuts and compared the two temperatures.  The new machine had some nuts in the 170 F to 190 F range, which is hot enough to burn you.  The old one was more in the 120 F to 130 F range.  I can handle that temperature in my hand.

Overall, I was happy to see that someone made a repro because these are cool machines.  Did anyone else buy one of these machines?  Just curious on your opinion if you did.

Here's a picture of both of them.

Thanks,

Larry.

Here's a video comparing two NOS nut huts.  It's pretty long and boring with my mono tone narratives.  I put time indexes in the description if anyone wanted to see anything in particular.

I also just added a brief demo of both machines loading and using today.  Nothing to exciting.
