Greetings,

I have  WD12 with a type M thermostat. It has run without incident for 25 years. Recently, I noticed the beverages in the cooler were freezing as the compressor was not shutting off.  I unplugged the cooler, let it sit for a few hours then a day, with the same problem. When I plugged it back in the last time, the compressor does not start.  The evaporator fan runs so it is not a power supply nor a capacitor issue as I understand it.  I ran a conductivity test from the terminal board to all three terminal posts on the compressor and that checked good.  I manually adjusted the thermostat with no success.

Sounds like it’s time for a new thermostat, yours seems to be sticking closed ( freezing bottles) and now it’s stuck open.

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.
