Hello

I just got my first call on my trader newspaper add. I thought it would interesting to post the little bit of information I received from the caller here & maybe you guys could help with the ID. Plus when I get to look at the machine we can see who the winner is.

So here is the description

1951  Red round top coke machine. Raised letters saying Coke & 5 cents. The machine has a round drum on the inside.  The coin changer is set for 5 cents & you lift a brown door on the right upper front- lifting the door cause the inner round drum to rotate. The lady said that  she has the machine at her parents house & her parents want her to get it out. She said her father would not let her plug in the old coke machine because it was old & it may cause a fire. She also said that she has a huge collection of Coca-Cola items that she had been collecting for about 20 years & that she needs to get rid of. She asked if I also wanted the coke items. The lady will get me some pictures of the machine & her coke items. I told her that I was not interested in the other coke items but some of my friends may be.  I called her back to ask some additional questions on the coke machine & she said she thought it was a Vendo brand.

So any ideas?  This could be a fun game.

Hello

I think it kind of sounds like a Vendo 83. Any other ideas?

It's a Vendo 83 and  I'd be interested in the Coke Items.

Hello

I think you guys are correct with V83. So we have a none operational V-83. How much should I offer?  $200

Careful not to pass on the “coke stuff” could be some killer signs, cooler or a dispenser.....

Hello

Is there a real market for the coke stuff?  She did say she had some signs & such.  Does nothing for me but I guess I could turn it but I dont want to get stuck with a bunch of crap.

I will let you all know.

I knew it was a V83 too, because that is what I just bought on eBay the other day. Oh, lars just said that.

Do you guys know what size bottles can go in the V83's honeycomb? Is it just the tiny 6 1/2 oz. and 8 oz. sizes or can 10 oz. fit too? I'm guessing just the tiny guys.

I would be interested in the other Coke stuff too. There's a good market for Coke stuff as long as it isn't modern reproduced cr*p and tin boxes. I am so sick of sifting through all the Coke tin boxes, radios, napkin holders, salt&pepper shakers and ornaments on eBay.
