the idea 55 pepsi  slider was restored by a restorer person that did not do the ref. part. he took the box to a ref. person that installed a complete 1/4 hp Copeland unit with a new condenser and fan. the evaportator coil is still attached between  to the wall of the box. the new copeland 1/4 hp is charged with Freon 134a.
since it has been running for 24 hrs, the box is at 40 degrees

what pressure should I see on the low and hi side and how much Freon is correct.

the box and all ref parts look as though the unit was brand new.
I want it to cool a little colder
do you know if this is possible?

I wanted to try and get the box to cool correctly myself without having to take it back to the restorer 100s of miles away.

thanks

oh  You really can't just slap R134a into an R12 system without refitting the capillary tubing's length & internal diameter (size) .  Plus he should have at least flushed the system to remove any old mineral oil & installed a new compatible filter/dryer too. ( as the original system never had a filter install, only a small filter-sieve/screen on the outlet of the condenser coils return line, which is often plugged & causes mischief and misery).

Good luck   smile

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

I don't think those "Chicken McNuggets" are actually made of chicken. I'm not even overly confident they're really "McNuggets".  Oo

As explained to me by the "Colonel"  the nuggets are the last part of a rooster to go over the fence... wow

The "Coronal"? Perhaps you meant "The Colonel"?

Would the 55's original evaporator coil handle R134a okay, as long as the rest of the system is properly set up for it?

Hmmm.... the last part to go "over" or get "hung" on the fence? either way.... ouch!  :censored

.... and yes, the evaporator on a 55 will handle 134a just fine.
